N\u00e5got som \u00e4r viktigt inte minst inom flyget, d\u00e4r branschen kontinuerligt beh\u00f6ver se \u00f6ver hur industrin p\u00e5verkar milj\u00f6n. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Viktiga framsteg inom flygindustrin <\/strong><br \/>\nFlygindustrin st\u00e5r inf\u00f6r stora utmaningar, d\u00e4r de st\u00f6rsta \u00e4r milj\u00f6p\u00e5verkan tillsammans med \u00e4nnu h\u00f6gre  flygs\u00e4kerhet. Flyget st\u00e5r idag f\u00f6r 2\u20133% av v\u00e4rldens v\u00e4xthusgasutsl\u00e4pp och svenska inrikesflyget svarar f\u00f6r 1% av landets koldioxidutsl\u00e4pp. Samtidigt \u00f6kar flyget st\u00e4ndigt (v\u00e4rldens flygplansflotta ber\u00e4knas f\u00f6rdubblas vart femtonde \u00e5r) och d\u00e4rf\u00f6r \u00e4r det viktigt att man utvecklar nya tekniska l\u00f6sningar som bidrar till minskade utsl\u00e4pp. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Givande samarbete med doktorander<\/strong><br \/>\nHenrik Runnemalm \u00e4r forskningschef f\u00f6r GKN Aerospace Engine Systems, en enhet inom industrikoncernen GKN d\u00e4r man utvecklar och tillverkar avancerade delar till motorer f\u00f6r flygplan och rymdraketer. F\u00f6retaget v\u00e4lkomnar nya id\u00e9er och har l\u00e5ngsiktiga samarbeten med universitet, h\u00f6gskolor och forskningsinstititut som inbegriper cirka 50 doktorander i olika forskningsprojekt. Studenterna utmanas att hitta innovativa l\u00f6sningar i olika projektarbeten som kommer framtidens flyg till nytta.<\/p>\n<p><strong>M\u00f6jligt att minska utsl\u00e4pp<\/strong><br \/>\nHenrik Runnemalm f\u00f6rklarar att GKN:s l\u00e4ttviktsteknologier, med avancerad tillverkning av motorstrukturer, kan minska vikten med 15\u201330%, vilket bidrar till minskad br\u00e4nslef\u00f6rbrukning och d\u00e4rmed l\u00e4gre utsl\u00e4pp. Eftersom det finns motorkomponenter fr\u00e5n GKN i mer \u00e4n 90% av alla nya st\u00f6rre civila flygplan v\u00e4rlden \u00f6ver kan f\u00f6retagets fokus p\u00e5 minskad br\u00e4nslef\u00f6rbrukning ha en global effekt.<br \/>\n\u2013 Vi \u00e4r just nu med och utvecklar en jetmotorfamilj med bland annat en ny typ av v\u00e4xell\u00e5da som minskar br\u00e4nslef\u00f6rbrukningen med upp till 15%.
